FSX SP2

Postby FuturePilot » Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:37 am

I downloaded and installed SP2 to my fsx. It loads like normal, I select my options on free flight, and it loads the flight, but right when it says 100% Loaded it shuts FSX down. Anyone else had problems with SP2?

did you install SP1 first?
At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

The original on the dvd is refered to as RTM.

You must install SP1 and then SP2. (Only for FSX Standard and Deluxe- Sp1 and 2 not needed if you have Accelleration installed.)

SP2 has an uninstaller in the Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. Hopefully this will get you back to RTM without having to reinstall FSX.

FuturePilot, did you add any new scenery recently ?
Just two days ago, I have tried to install a new scenery from FS9 into my FSX (some Alaska bush scenery, I wanted to check if it wold work)... and my FSX did just the same: load up to 100%, and then return to desktop without any error message, nothing. I had to remove the scenery.

Yes, I just uninstalled SP2. SP1 works fine, so I guess I'll just live with it :)

wierd service pack 2 should work for you. Only thing I can think of is the dreaded reinstall of the whole sim.

Yeah, I don't really feel like that now. I think I'll just live with it. Maybe later.

If/when you do reinstall be sure to follow Nick's installation guide found in the FSX FAQ's.
