Textures showing wrong, no buildings at airports

Postby stevehookem » Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:52 pm

FSX has gone funky on me. It's showing building textures on the side of my planes, most airports don't have buildings anymore and it's taking 5 minutes to load at start-up.

What do I do? If I throw out the cfg file, do I have to reload all my add-on airports, scenery, etc? Isn't there a file that I can throw out that FSX will rebuild and possibly fix this? I don't want to go through adding everything.

This is unusable as-is. My clouds are British Airways planes! haha

Perhaps drop the overclock down on your motherboard and see if it continues?  And ..... have you overclocked your already overclocked video card?  If so ... crank it down too.  Maybe heat is contributing?  Pop the cover off for awhile ...

Here's three screenshots. The overclock on the motherboard is perfectly stable. The video card is not overclocked more than it already is from the factory.

Try reinstalling an older video card driver, say 6 months old  ...  then if that doesn't help then underclock your mobo (just for testing even if it is stable). Reseat memory, also try changing the timings.

hmmm, I did just update the video driver to 185.85. I'll go back to 182.50.

Is that what you use?

Yeah .... Nick says 180.48 or 182.50, and the 182.50 is the one you were using before.  "185" drivers are crap ..... quote/unquote.  The 185 drivers also crashed my 285 ...   so it does look like it could be a driver issue.
