Well guess who's back!

Well guess who's back!

Postby skoker » Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:55 pm

I'm coming back to FSX after 7 months of Fs2004.  I will keep 2004 Installed but if I get poor performance I will uninstall it.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

That just came to mind... don't know why  ;)

Did you get a new computer or something?  :-?

ummm.. I have no tweaks, hard nor soft...  FSX runs wonderfully, and actually locks, and/or crashes, less often than FS9 did   :P

Just for reference.. to keep things in perspective.. My SECOND FSX, purpose-built computer.. that cost around $2200 for a ground up, start with nothing build (including $140 for Vista). can now be had for.. welllll... you do the math on the key components (m-board, CPU, v-card, RAM)

Jus a "for example".... (this is from memory)

I was running FS9 "ok" on a AMD2500 / ATI-ti4800..

I shot the wad on an AMD3000-64 / ATI 9800pro256... I'm talking a LOT of money.. and the performance icrease was minimal

>:(

I didn't have FS9 running FULL out (full sliders, gobs of AI, to the point where O'hare was a parking lot), until I got an AMD3700, overclocked it, and hadd a 7800GTS v-card... and even with that .. it would lag a bit, here and there. That was my THIRD try at an FS9 rig !

I've been a little more wise, building for FSX, but I've still spent money I didn't need to.
