Worked wonderfully Nick. Thanks

Once Problem i see is that I need all the .dll from the app showing on the desktop in order for the limited FSX to work. My desktop is cluttered enough, I can't have all the .dll on it. What Can I do and If you have already answered the question in your post please clarify. :)

Nevermind figured it out.  From what I can tell it has smoothed mine out tremendously.  The commands to change the AG slider in flight that are in the readme don't seem to work though but other than that I like it.

I am having a problem. I click the batch file, and it says that the batch file does not exist? Anyone help? I am computer savy and know a lot about them, and have tried for 45 minutes, and no luck! Please help! ;)

Did this same tweak on my buddies new computer and it worked but not quite as good.  Mine will drop to 4-5 fps for about a quarter to half a second occasionally, can't even notice it.  His will drop down to 3-5 for about five seconds and then bounce right back to thirty.  IDK what the deal is but it improved mine very well.  Just shot an ILS approach with a 300 ft ceiling and 1/4 vis in heavy snow in the King Air and 20-30 fps all the way down.

I'd delete that .bat and try it again.  Make sure you are searching for the fsx.exe and not any of the other .exe's in the FS folder

I am still having no luck. Could it be because all the files for the fps program are not in my main fsx directory? Or does the batch have to be in the fsx directory? Still working on this...

As far as I know the batch just has to be in the folder where the fpslimiter is.

FWIW, not really working well for me. Normally I'm set at 30fps and it pretty much stays there no matter what. Don't have stutters. Tried the limiter and I noticed that in fullscreen, my frames are exactly 1/2 of my setting. If I set limiter to 30fps, in FS it will be 15, in windowed 30. If I set limiter to 60 - it's 30 in fullscreen and 60 in windowed.

Didn't fly long enough at 60 to see if there were any other effects.

Osprey,

Are you following this?

Be aware that where you place the folder must remain or it will break its use and you will need to reconfigure the bat file

Maybe you should just delete the entire thing, redownload the file and create a new .bat file and see if it works

If I am reading you right, Ospreyluvr, this is what I did.  DL'd the thing to a folder on my desktop, and called it FPS Limiter. Then when I ran it, I got a shortcut on the desktop for that bat file, and away ya go. I moved the FPS Limiter to my FSX dl's folder, then it didn't work. Seems to me that the dl'd thing and the bat file must be in the same place.  Hope that's helps, and sure hope this makes sense.

I can't say I have a serious problem with "stutters", "hitching" or whatever but I decided I'd try this and found it does seem to eliminate the occasional stutters I do experience. However, I have a problem....
I have a dual monitor setup and like to undock things like the GPS, radio stack, etc. and drag them to my second monitor but whenever I undock anything my FPS immediately drops to 15. Closing whatever window I've opened (GPS radio stack etc. ) makes my FPS immediately go back to 30ish. Anyone else experiencing this as its a deal breaker for me. BTW, I tried this with the Affinity Mask in the fsx.cfg file and also without it but it did not affect the problem I have with undocking when I've launched FSX using the batch file. If I run FSX by NOT using the batch file, I can lock my FPS at 30, for example, and qhen I undock anything it does not affect my FPS. Any ideas anyone?

Several people. including myself have experienced this. It seems, with multiple monitors the fps will drop by half of your setting if you undock a window. no one seems to know why or whether this is by design at this time.
