Bright yellow or green borders between states and/or countries, so we know where we are at a glance. The city & state or city & country called-out on the screen where the airports are that we pass along the way to our destination. Make these able to be toggled on or off at any time.

If you are navigating like you should be in the first place, you shouldn't have to wonder what country you're over.... ;D

Navigating? I can't find my assets with both hands. What you want navigating??

"Gosh!  That's going to leave a mark!"

The option to leave a pile of smoldering wreckage when you make that 'oh so special' impact in the bean field or side of the mountain you didn't notice.

Of course this would (temporarily) remove that particular aricraft from your Virtual Hanger untill you clear the crashes, or there are too many bit's and pieces scattered around the runway to take off without crashing because you caught a wing on the wreckage of a previous...er... "incident", and you have to remove the saved crash...  er... incidents... just to clear the runway.

Plus, when you leave them there, and you have guests when you are flying, you can go by  the site of the more spectacular impac...  incidents, and say, "Yup!  Really lit up the sky with that one!  Yes sir ree bob!"

(This is not to make light of crashes in the real world, of course)

I would like to see more military aircraft with active weapon systems (you know, for those days you just want to blow stuff up!).  Since MS seems to refuse to make a modern combat flight sim.

I love the Acceleration F/A-18 but would also love more military aircraft included in the base program.  Why the heck can't I use the aircraft carrier OUTSIDE of the mission?  Lame.

GIVE US SPACE!  I, like "real" pilots and such, want to go to space!

Sloping runways would be nice.

As for new default aircraft:
C152
767 and A380
Some more corporate aircraft instead of just having

Last week, I mentioned my Grandsons may be getting me FSX for Christmas, and I was cautioned that my present technology may be insufficient to properly run it. I commented that I may well need to replace it. When I see all the items on the "Wish List", the complexity of many of them, and what Microsoft may have to do to satisfy a sufficient number of them, the possibility of a $500 "game" would be the least of the problems! That price would pale in relation to the cost of the hardware to run it.  ::) Anyone got a mainframe they're not using?

I would like to see the pilot disengaged from the aircraft.

By that I mean, I don't want my sole view point in the flight sim world to be from 3 inches in front of the left-hand seat. I want to be able to move around the cabin, greet the passengers, get down the stairwell and do an external check of my aircraft. I want to walk across the tarmac and jump into a Cessna to check out the cockpit, before then walking over to a learjet and walking up the stairwell.

I want the simulator to be about 'me' as a person, not just the 'aircraft' I happen to be in at the time.

I'm not talking about amazingly advanced technology to get this effect, perhaps just something in the vein of the old FS2004 Active Camera 'walk around' view. But I would like it to be permeative.

I believe this concept could expand into something much more complex with time - eg walking through the airport lounge out the jetway into your aircraft, and ultimately to the 'world simulator', but just some baby steps in that direction for FS11 sounds like a good idea to me.

My wish isn't for changes to the program, but some reversions to very early FS support:  Periodic updates to the RUNWAY and FACILITY files, and now, with the advent of GPS, to the APPROACHES files.  Some of us are into FSX so we can practice real stuff, like approaches in something similar ot our (or the ones we rent) airplanes.  The FAA is adding GPS approaches like proliferating bunnies.  Frequently they're changing the old ILS and nonprecision approaches to make life easier of the controllers (apparently) to segway into the overlay approaches.  A result is that what you get in FSX, current when MS released the product, doesn't match what you get on your last 56 day update (much less the 28 day intrim).  It's all cool to engage in fantasy, but please leave the tenuous threads of reality in place..

In response to John Henry..  I do agree.  And point out that the first Mainframe I worked on ( UNIVAC 1107 with fairly clutzy multiprogramming EXEC I Operating System) was pretty hot for its day but pales in comparison to the DELL HC 730 w/ 4GB RAM & dual 10Krpm HDs I run for fun.  It might even pale in comparison to the Dual 1GB Radeon 3870 video cards put up against its CPU.  But that still costs less than flying my Cardinal very far with AVGAS at $3.90 a gallon (down from a recent $5.25).  And forget about annual inspections, tiedown fees, and insurance.

Give ATC and AI aircraft better radio etiquette. If you ask me to do something, give me a few seconds to respond before calling other aircraft, and DON'T butt in while i'm already in the middle of a conversation with controll... >:(

And don't say "turn right heading 120" 3 seconds after saying "turn right heading 080".
