Gray Icons

Postby Excalibur372 » Mon Mar 09, 2009 6:06 pm

In the main FSX folder there is a icon that looks like the regular FSX start icon except it is gray. Instead of FSX being on that icon it says FS2004. I was wondering can i open this? I click on it and a black screen comes up, then nothing happens. What is this?

The files are dummies & don't do anything. It's just the same in FS2002 & FS9. This shot is from FS2002 which I still have installed.

I don't really know for certain but I always assumed they were required for some addons/utilities created for earlier versions of FS to install or work properly. In the past I've fooled these utilities by creating the dummy files they were looking for.
