To create kneeboard Checklist or Reference list:
You can create either an .htm or .txt (notepad) file and place it in the aircraft's folder. Take a look at any default aircraft's folder for an example. (All default Checklists and Reference files are in .htm format, but .txt will work as well.)
You can name the file anything you wish, though for consistancy it's best to use the 'default' filename form....example:
_ref.htm and _check.htm (or .txt)
You also have to edit the aircraft.cfg file to point to the files. Add or edit these 2 lines in each [fltsim.x] section.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
