Problem with add on aircraft.

Postby DFWFlier » Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:40 pm

I have a question regarding an add on I added not too long ago.  I can't remember the name of the file but if it helps its a package that contains repaints for the 737-800 which include; American Airlines, Vietnam Air, UPS, FedEx, Easy Jet, and Ryan air.  The problem I'm having is all of a sudden when I go to select any one of those except the AA, the wheels are showing at the bottom sideways.  What should I check in the cfg file.  It was worse before I tried fixing it, the planes were transparent and the animated parts were no where to be seen along with what looked like landing gear going through it from top to bottom.  Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Unfortunatly I'm at work at the moment.  But the third one down on this page http://simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=60&page=21 is the one I'm having trouble with.  From the start I had to edit the cfg file because at the end of each line it had /par.

I just had a look at this, and the textures appear to be fine, the problem is, is that the author has totally butchered the .cfg.  There is a lot of extra junk in there that should not be there.

No matter what a read-me says, ALWAYS back up original files that a download intends on replacing.

If you still have the original, then good job on your part, this will be a rather simple fix. If not, you need it, or you need to get rid of some stuff in this one.

I've seen this problem before. I suspect the modified CFG was saved in RTF format. If you open it in WordPad it looks fine.

EDIT: Thanks for the explanation Hagar! :) I've not seen this before, but that appears to have indeed been the problem. ;)

Here is a pic of one of them to confirm it works. ;)
