ATC Radio Confusion

Postby Mistro » Sun Feb 22, 2009 11:25 pm

Usually when I hold short at the runway assigned I contact them on the channel they tell me to and get clearance for takeoff. But this time I keep getting the weather report from either channel I click on and cannot request takeoff clearance because of all the chatter. Does anyone know about this, and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to takeoff from Port Moresby, New Guinea.

LOL. You tuned into the ATIS or AWOS. That is a automated weather station to inform pilots of weather conditions around the airport(useful for training to be a real pilot). Just tune out of it, or near airports list, so you can tune back to the tower! ;)

The problem is that I still get the weather report station no matter which station I click on. This never happened to me before. I do know the difference.

Oh, sorry. Did not mean to offend, just did not know your flight sim experience. Um, have you restarted the game? Also, if that does not work, restart your computer. Other than that, I am of no service :'(

Appears there is an error in the default af data. AFX shows these assigned freqs:ATIS-128.00: Tower-118.10 and 128.0:

Just ran a quick check in FSX.  In the ATC menu; at runway 14L/32R the freqs. sequenced properly, ATIS-128.0, Tower-118.10. At 14R/32L both ATIS and Tower used 128.00.

The shared freq. is confusing ATC.  :-? ..the 128.00 Tower freq. need to be removed.

Thank you Anxyous! Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.....in the readme it says to put the addon folder in the FSX directory. There is already an addon folder with a scenery folder in the directory. Should I place the BGL file in the scenery folder that already exist in the addon/scenery folder?

Just place the Addon Scenery folder in the FSX directory, and Windows will ask you, if you wanna merge the folders. Just say yes to those, and you're good :)

Alternatively, place the .bgl file in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder in the FSX directory, it's up to you :)
