If it's your halo.bmp, is there any chance of me getting it?

Its a reduced scale file designed for his resolution and would not work on your screen

Jim

Thats a reduced scale version of my FSX halo.bmp

I am not handing out my new FSX halo.bmp file in full scale.. I have reasons for that and part of it is because I am still working on it.

Now we're cookin' with gas!

Hard to say if it needs to be any smaller... Looks much better than the default though!

Now to go re-adjust my runway scalars.

I can make it smaller Jim

If you want it reduced again, let me know

Its way too small for a typical monitor setup so the scale will only work for THg's

I use Imagetool.exe to open the file, convert it to 32bit, extract the primary bitmap and then save as a TGA file.. then use Photoshop to do the editing work after which I save it and then open in Imagetool.exe, add the bitmaps back in and convert it as needed

Some use a program called DXTbitmap too

That would be cool. How about two more, one 75%, and one 50% of the one above?

That way, if the next one isn't quite right, then I don't have to bother you for another one again.  ;)

Much thanks,

I do believe that last one did the trick! At least, I like it. I've also redone the runway lights scalars.

Looks like a side benefit is that the halo is also used for the aircraft beacons and strobes, because they also are no longer those huge flashing glowing balls of light.

Yes.. that file is used when the model maker assigns lights in the model file to the sim

So that should fix all your lights at the same time except the ones called by the aircraft.cfg and those are controlled by FX_2.bmp and the FX files in the Effects folder

It will ony work for the THtgo but that should get your light scale in order and the adjustment in the FSX.cfg file will set the airport light scale correctly for you

I also have a remade spotlight.bmp file that adds a better blue/yellow tint to the lights

enjoy!

fx_landing.fx

NOTE: this only works with aircraft which call the FX file from the aircraft.cfg LIGHTS section ... the issue you are seeing is caused by the resolution and ZOOM associated with the file HALO.bmp as described below this FX file code

Nick, all pure FSX compiled models use the fx_landing.fx file. It is "Attached" to a polygon in the model...

As such, changes to it will affect all FSX model's landing lights...

But, that's okay! The halo.bmp is scaled too darn big to begin with!  ;D

Make sure you are setting up the TH2Go/FSX correctly.. This was posted for the THG users as FSinsider

http://www.fsinsider.com/tips/Pages/Acc ... ad2Go.aspx

you may have already seen it.. just passing the information on

Yup, I was aware of that setting prior to getting the TH2Go.

Thanks for thinking of me though. :-)
