I save downloads to a "Downloads" folder. Open Windows Explorer, open the "Downloads folder and right mouse click the .zip. A pop-up of options should appear, select "extract". I extract the zip into the same "download" folder the zip is located in. After the extraction is done, you should then have a folder for the aircraft. That folder should contain a "read Me" file and at least the aircraft folder, but also may contain effects, gauge, and sound folders.
Tha aitcraft folder should contain at least four folders: Model, Panel, Sound, and Texture. It should also contain two files: aircraft.cfg and Flyingthing.air (where "flyingthing" is the aircraft)
Normally, all you have to do is copy that complete folder (the aircraft one) and paste it into the FSX/Simobject/airplane folder in FSX
If it has extra folders for soud, gauges or effects, coy the contents to those respective folders in FSX, also.
