you can press shift + z to bring it up...one time will bring up your alt and heading ect...twice will bring up your FPS...three times will show both and the forth time will make it go away.

hope this helps

you want to INCREASE your FPS to make FSX run smoother..

there are stickies at the top of this forums that you need to go through in order to set up your system and FSX the correct way.. that will make your FPS go up and the smoothness will ease in

if you followed that thread the letter then you should be fine.. if it's still lagging then the problem is either your FSX settings or just your specs.. I'll tell ya.. that AMD doesn't do too well.. it's about the same as a 2.0ghz intel dual core

SuperMonkey, just to give you a little bit more details:
The amount of FPS that your computer will be able to deliver will depend on the power of your CPU, and according to this power you have to make some precise tunning of the various tweaks in the FSX.cfg, you know that already.

Once this is done, your computer will be able to deliver a certain number of FPS when you set the FPS limit to "unlimited". However you will quickly notice that even if your FPS can reach very high numbers in some areas (mine can reach 50 FPS away from big airports), the movement will be anything but smooth. The worse will be when looking at 9 o'clok or 3 o'clockm the way the scenery moves on the screen is terrible.

The solution to get a smoother sim is to set the FPS limit to a reasonnable value, most often between 20 and 25 (provded you're getting more than that with unlimited FPS), because it will free some CPU power that will be used for building the scenery faster, refreshing the ground textures faster, processing the autogen faster etc...

           GeForce 9500 GT 1G memory

according to my comp spec whats the BEST FPS i can do? to run it smooth? when i have it on 70 FPS and when i try to do some mission with large airports it lagg for like a second then the whole mission run fine.. so is 70 FPS good on my comp?
