Carriers

Is there any way to do free flight from a carrier in FSX?  Preferably with a tower view?  I've seen a few downloadable in the scenery section... can you land on them?

YEs you can land and take off from carriers. And no, unless you have accleration you cannot trap on them or use the catapult. Usually to take off from a nearby airport, you fly to them in a chopper and land then change planes. You can land using choppers. Correct me if im worng but thats how i do it.

Oh interesting...  so it's just a matter of knowing where one is... It looks like there's one off the Massachuttes coast (from the missions), but it's not on the GPS...

Any one have a good method for finding them?

What I'm hoping is possible is the ability to relocate a carrier to where you want it. My buddies and I want to do a world tour in F-18s, and we'll need carriers to make it to Hawaii. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you look through the FSX Scenery, Misc, and Utility sections, you will find quite a few scenery packs that place carriers around. There are even 'flyable' carriers and other various ships that you can download.

My favorite though, is a utility which allows you to place a carrier while inflight, and allows you to controll it's distance, speed, and direction.
