I got mine from bestbuy also.
I mean download by the setup that starts when you put the disk in.

When you put the disk in the screen pops up with the airshow in the backround then you click Install Acceleration then after that the setup loads and the window pops up saying I need Flight Simulator X?
I have the deluxe edition also... :-?

Im just hoping it will install

I think you mean install. I can't offer advice on this but it helps to use the correct terminology - especially when dealing with MS support.

Yeah sorry about that. I changed it. I havent contacted them yet but I think I might just do it over the phone. Chat you have to have the PID and email you have to pay $35 is what I believe it is. Crazy..

No need to apologise. By using the wrong word in the subject line you're giving people the wrong idea. That might be the reason for the lack of response.

Which ID do they want? FSX or Acceleration or both? Probably both. The ID code is usually somewhere on the packaging with the software.

and I cant uninstall and reinstall my FSX ive already use the max amount of times you can use the product key

From what I've read here that shouldn't be a problem unless you're using a different PC.

Well im kinda worried about taking the risk of not having a code and not having the registered version  :-/..

For the code I thought it was that I tried but its a diffrent format of it. You have to like get it in the game. Its called Product Identification but its not the Product key you use to get the registered version of your game.

My options are running really slim. Ive tried to repair FSX then download no luck.
I got this thing from FLIGHT1 that you can locate the fsx directory .exe because that worked for someone else no luck.

Im just wondering why its doing it?

From your last post, are you thinking that it cannot find your FSX installation? If so, have you tried the custom install option and manually pointing the way to your FSX?
Might work.
Also, have you installed SP1 or SP2 before trying this install? That might (not saying it will) be the problem. I know that Accel includes both updates in it and it might be looking for the original un-updated FSX.exe. And if you have either of the SPs, it won't recognize it.

Hope some of this helps. :)

Well 2 questions..
Where do I go to get the custom install its just automatic after placing the disk in..

Also I think I have sp2 or it might be sp1..
How do I delete it?

THanks :)

For the custom install, it should be an option when you pop in the disc,
it might also be called advanced install, or choose install options.

For the getting rid of sp1 & sp2, that's the bad news. You will probably have to uninstall FSX and start with a clean install.

Another thing you could try, and this one is iffy as I have never done this with FSX, (but I have with FS9 and it worked) Is to put the FSX DVD in the drive, when it starts to run, close it. Now go to my computer and right click on the drive and choose explore. If it presents you with the contents of the disc, look for the FSX.exe and copy it to a temp folder. Now go and create a back up of the FSX.exe that is in your main FSX directory and put it somewhere safe.
When that is done, move the FSX.exe that you copied from the disc into your main FSX directory and let it overwrite the one that is there.
Then try your Accel install. If that doesn't work, then replace the new FSX.exe with your back up to put it back to the way it was.
If it does work, it should just overwrite the sp1&2 files with the ones on the Accel disc.
But as I stated, I've never tried this with FSX and I don't know if you can get access to the DVD contents the way you could with the FS9 discs. But if you can, this way should work out fine for you. ;)

But if it doesn't, you will have to do a clean install job. :-/
Let me know how this works out for you. :)

Inside the plastic case for both FSX deluxe and acceleration discs there is a product key. That is all you need to activate or reactivate by phone. You can reinstall 3 times without phone call or email. On my 4rth reinstall they even let me put it on my new computer, no problem. ( When I phoned.) I have never heard of a limit on how many times you may reinstall. Hope that clears some things up.
