Help with flight sim newbie.

I am new to flight sim. I want to become a better pilot so that I can join a virtual airline or do some online simming. The problem is that the  fsx inbuilt tutorials don't seem to help me very well. I can't seem to do simple things such as trim the aircraft to maintain a desired altitude, pitch, or speed. I guess it would be better if I got a joystick, but at the moment I'm using a keyboard.

Where can I find better tutorials and lessons that will make me a better pilot?
