Delux features

Postby Ironhat2 » Sat Nov 15, 2008 6:15 pm

I have the basic game, sp 1 and 2 updates and wings of power addon.
Is there a way to get the additions in the delux edition without buying the whole thing ? I guess i'll also have to break down and buy the acceleration expasion as well.
I do want to have the Grumman Goose but can't find a add on version so far.

I don't think there's any way that you can get deluxe aircraft onto the basic addition of FSX, you would just have to buy the deluxe edition of flight simulator

Standard vs. Deluxe Edition
Flight Simulator X was released in two editions, Standard and Deluxe. Deluxe Edition incorporates some additional features, including an on-disc Software Development Kit (SDK), three airplanes with the Garmin G1000 Flight Deck, and player Air Traffic Control.[1]

In addition, the Deluxe Edition features 24 aircraft compared to 18 in the Standard Edition, 45 high-detail airports compared to 40, 38 high-detail cities compared to 28, and 51 structured missions compared to 30+.[2]

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition combines the Deluxe Edition and the Acceleration expansion pack into one. Also, it has more missions than the two editions/packs separated.
- Wiki. 5 seconds on google solves that question...
All of MSFSX's planes are under copyright etc and it would be pirating if you downloaded them online.
;)
PS, FSX: Gold includes Deluxe and Acceleration. :)

The short form of the answer is NO.  MS spent considerable funds building the aircraft and the missions contained in Acceleration, why should they allow people who downloaded the free SP1 and SP2 to then get the rest for nix?  It just wouldn't add up.  And it would make me hopping mad, because I would have wasted my money.

You still have the option of finding great aircraft and missions from here and some other sites as well. Plus there are the payware aircraft.
As for Acceleration I do not own it and do not plan on buying it . But that is just me  8-)

You do know that you own the Goose (it's part of the gold-edition - not accelleration)?! Just have a look into your SimObjects folder... Copy and past a panel-folder from an other plane (I use the DC-3 one) and you'll be abel to fly it! With some tweak you can even use the VC!  8-)
