Flour Power

Postby anikun07 » Fri Nov 14, 2008 3:19 am

I've tried dozens of times to do the Flour Power mission, has anyone else had the problem of an object collision when a flour bomb is dropped?  I think every time I drop one there's a 50/50 chance of FSX telling me I crashed.  Am I not flying level enough?

I wouldn't know about flying level, I can try it out later to see if it makes a difference.

How high are you flying? If you're trying to hit ships, be careful not to fly into the *mumblemumble*... high thing ;D

Haha!  No, I'm just aiming for the target pads for starters.  But so many times the game says I collided and I'm at least as 100 feet.

Hm, sounds weird.

I'll be home in a few hours, I'll try it out, and see if I can find the problem :)

Okay, just flew it, and I've found out that bank angle has nothing to do with it.

I've dropped them form 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and even inverted flight, but nothing happened.

You must have a glitch or something...

I have completed this mission several times, too, and can't remember any collision with the pads... So I guess it's no common FSX issue!  :-/

Hi Folks

anikun07 -
This is a known issue.

You are colliding with the flour bombs themselves.

As soon as you release, pull upwards.

That's what I thought was happening.  Is it different when I'm pulling up when I release?  I've had that make me crash too, and I don't mean a sharp pull up, just a light incline.

Hi Folks

anikun07 -
It's all about the relative trajectories of the object & aircraft.

You need to increase their separation rate.

IRL
bombs are not armed until they're well away from the aircraft,
unfortunately flour bombs don't have arming mechanisms.      :)
