Loopy Larry Mission

Postby anikun07 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 1:24 am

Has anyone landed on the school bus in the Loopy Larry mission?  I've stopped on the bus a couple of times but FSX never says I landed on it.  Is there a trick to it?

I tried that mission, but I found it very hard. And yes, I noticed that bug too. In the Hawaii mission. I finished the entire 45 minutes flight and landed smoothly, but didn't get the "Mission Accomplished"-box.

Your main wheels just need to touch down on the bus, and remain stationary for a few seconds. You won't be able to land completely, as the Cub will start going backwards, if the tail starts to drop.

Yeah, it a bit frustrating when the game doesn't recognize getting to a checkpoint or finishing a mission.  That's one reasons I like to save a lot.  I'll give the Loopy Larry mission a couple more tries..  Thanks!!

I did it once in about 100 tries. Its hard, but I've got the reward to prove it.  Thats a good mission for when you have nothin to do for days and need to kill some time

I nailed it the first time.  Biggest thing to remember is the bus is going fast enough that the airplane is still flying even with its wheels stopped on the roof of the bus, therefore you have to keep the tail up.  Basically like doing a two point landing and holding it there with the throttle.

I touched the bus the second try...made it on the third 8-) Yes I have had that problem before... usually only happens if I have FSX in windowed mode and/or I minimize/click out of FSX... not sure why ;D ::)

FINALLY!!!  I HAVE DONE IT!!  And I don't ever want to do it again...  Thanks for the tips.  I just barely landed on the front end of the platform.  Three seconds after the mission said it was successful I rolled off the front - even though my wheel brake was engaged.

Good Luck.  I don't know how many tries I gave it, but I was definitely getting very frustrated and I'm the most patient person I know.
