need help refueling

Postby Ironhat2 » Tue Nov 11, 2008 6:49 pm

I'm just starting to take some longer cross country flights that will require refueling.

As a test i flew a Lear from Lethbrige, Alberta to Greatfalls, Montana.
Landed at the airport there and taxied to the refueling station. Couldn't figure out how to top up the tanks.
How do i do this?
Thanks

Hi Ironhat2. Usually as soon as you come to a complete stop, and are close enough, the tanks should fill automatically.

Yeah, I just finished a mission and when I taxied to the ATC's designated area the option for fuel and ADI autmatically came up on the screen.

By the way, in a mission the co-pilot say to put the engines in reverse thrust, is there a control for that?  Also, what is ADI?  All I know is I can refill it and I ran out of it during the P-51 race.

Anikun07@ Yes, hold F2 for reverse thrust. You can hear if you got it in reverse in both jets and props. Remember, some airplanes doesen't have reverse thrust.  ;) Just hold in F2 and you'll hear it. Remember to put the thrust to idle first, though.  :P

Btw, thanks for posting how to refuel here.. I didn't know. Thanks!

I gave refueling a try. Just pulled up near the station and stopped, took about 15-20 seconds or so then they were full.

In FS 2004...

Reversing back (push-back) from the pumps is achived by pressing Shift + P, then pressing 1 or 2 (top row) to turn the aircraft to the left or right.

Since we're talking about fueling, I've got a question about idle engines.  Is Idle when I have my throttle all the way a 0?  I play with an x52.  I remember in LOMAC the tutorials told me (I think) that idle was 20% engines on the controller's gauge.

Yes, it's around 20 % on the gauge. To idle in Flight Simulator, simply press F1. ;) (Remember not to idle while climbing.. xP)

Okay, that's what I thought.  What is considered the gauge all the way down?  Does that shut off the engines?  I've had a couple times where I've started a mission and my engines just shut off and I have to start them back up.  That might be the reason.
