no virtual cockpit for SU27 and A-7 Corsair

FSX including FSX Steam version.

no virtual cockpit for SU27 and A-7 Corsair

Postby Ironhat2 » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:01 pm

Everything else seems to be there. Both aircraft are in the free flight planed selection menu. Both load and are flyable but i have no cockpit in cockpit view, default on my game.
Any one have any suggestions?

They may not have a VC.  Which SU 27 (I have one, and it has no VC) and which A-7 Corsair?

[quote]They may not have a VC.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

VCs are usualy only made by really good aircraft modelers most people cant make them, but its the effort that counts there are alot of great a/c with no VC (i just made a rhyme  ::))

These are the ones i have:
A7 Desert Storm
SU 27 Flanker package v2

If you are correct about these two not having a cockpit i'm not really interested in flying them from a moving camera outside view.

Thanks for your help

The Desert Storm A/C also does not have a VC.

The only freeware A7 with VC is the one from IRIS. It was payware in the past but now it's freeware. Quality is far from being good, though.

Concerning the Su-27, there has never been any Su-27 with VC in the whole FS history  :'(
The only alternative in the Flanker family is the Su-34, with a nice looking VC but nothing clickable unfortunately, and he flight model was far from being convincing when I tried it :/

you just burned the entire FS community... now in a C172 or GA aircraft Vcs probably should be in the ac but VCs in large aircraft are usually a large mess of switches yhat cant be clicked

You don't have to fly them from Spot view. Press F10 to bring up the 2D panel.

Dr Bob:  the only realistic way to fly is in VC.  Most of the quality add-ons have almost fully functional VCs - PMDG 747, Level D 767, Captain Sim 757. the add-on HD VC for the Carenado Mooney, the Wilco Airbus series and E-Jet and so-on.

VCs in fact are getting so functional and visually so good that I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the near future 2D panels are phased out.

im just syaing when i used to fly airliners (i am pro VC since i fly the C172 all the time in FSX) but all of those a/c mentioned are payware and it is expected of them to be that high quality... Im just saying panels arent terrible.................

I understand what you say. Liners can be a pain when their VCs have a lot of stuff to click on. Also, you will agree with me that most of the liners have very few clickable stuff in the VC, which is yet another realism problem. That's why some persons prefer to use 2D panels, more complete, more easy to find a switch and activate it etc...

However, I prefer the VC because it offers this part of the reality: "WHERE is that switch in the cockpit ? Left ? Right ? Up ? Down ? Behind ? etc...". This, and the view "problems" (this part of the cockpit is making this part of my view) and "solutions" (I move my head in order to be able to see the runway on takeoff/landing). :) I still plan to buy a Track IR system to make the experience really realistic, but in the meanwhile I got used to the commands for the zoom and the eyepoint ;)

Oh, and each single time I can, I try to suggest Piglet to build a Flanker !  ;D
