how do you get the ships in the water and actually use them. everytime i load them, it puts me on a runway. any help would be greatful

you have a couple options:

1. choose a seaport for you airport, there are many in FSX

2. press Y and slew over to the water

happy shipping, btw which ship u using?

3rd possibility: land a seaplane on water (like the Goose or Beaver) and change 'aircraft' using the in flight menu (press alt)...  ;)

And don't forget to change the altitude.  ;)
