Tried that. My native resolution for the 19" Widescreen LCD is 1440x900, and that's what I'm running both for the game and for WINDOWS.

I tried different resolutions and it does the same thing on every resolution.

that is strange.. never seen this issue changing AA settings

Are you changing to 4xS and 8xS in real time while the sim is booted or shutting the sim down and making the change, then booting the sim?

Save a copy of your FSX config, delete the one you have and let FSX build a new one and see if the same problem exists

Do you have widescreen set correctly for your hardware?

Just do it in windowed mode .

Window mode does not support Vsync and full supprt of hardware AA

Also.. in Visa, make sure the Windows taskbar is hidden before booting FSX. I have heard it can have a positive perf effect if the taskbar is hidden before the sim is booted.

I tried changing both in real time and shutting down the sim AND even shutting sim down, changing settings, and rebooting.

I set my monitor and display settings as you instructed in the stickies.

I let FSX build a new .CFG and it did not fix it.

When you installed Nhancer.. did you ALLOW the service to be installed which is required for Vista?

XP that service is not required however in Vista it MUST be installed to allow admin rights to nhancer

Yes, sir. I set up the .CFG as I had it before.

I tried reinstalling nHancer and that did not do the job. I did do a FULL install.

I am forced to leave the nHancer AA setting to APPLICATION and use the game's AA setting. That works fine--it doesn't take frames away or give me stutters, so I'll be using that I guess.

I guess it could be a combination of the card age, drivers and Vista

but as I said.. I have never seen this issue before. If you happen to come aross something that makes a change please post it

I found it quite weird myself. Can't tell whether I had the same problem in XP because I never tried Combined 4xS in XP. Anyways, I'm still running this almost three-year old 7950GT with the newest drivers, so that has to be it.
