THE WHOLE FRIKIN DELL CASE IS INVERSED. THE MOTHERBOARD IS INVERSED. ITS LIKE A MIRROR IMAGE OF NORMAL MOTHERBOARDS THEREFORE A NEW ONE WOULD NOT FIT.

omg omg. shoot me now

im just gonna wait till january and build the PC, tower, PSU, Water cooling an all.

OK then the case, PSU and cooling is good but in a build you are going to have to transfer a motherboard and reattach the power and cooling system components correctly.

As for motherboards... if you are going to chuck this in a few months the one you picked is not bad. After thinking about it for the price its probably not a bad idea

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131219

that one should hit 450Mhz

I dont see any reason why you could not run 8x450 (3.6Ghz) 1.44v Vcore, CPU STRAP 333 at DDR2 1066 @ CAS 5-5-5  on that board which would max out the DDR2 and the CPU

You sure? Some towers have knockout plates and the motherboard will come with a tin-stamped rear KO plate

doesnt look like anything can be done seeing as the case opens in the opposite side as normal cases, so theres nowhere to attach the mortherboard to.

back to fsx,

traffic off in utx helped frame rates. i tested with autogen at very dense again, and the frames went up as well, however it stutters more (at higher frames lol incredible)

im thinking that software wise im maxed out. cessna at TNCM is getting 30 FPS, up to 40 sometimes, and in small cities, coast, mountains, country, 40 to 55 FPS, so the performance is there.

however the sublte constant stutter is still there. the major stuttering is gone. now its just this more regular suble thing.

one thing i forgot to ttell you, when i installed XP from vista, teh install crahsed before it finished, i had to manually power down and when i turned it on again the install resumed. could this be the reason?

i actually see the stutter when i use windows XP too. like opening the start, or lowering explorer, the computer will stop for a milisecond then keep working.

What security software are you using and what software boots with Windows

Bring up the task manager and post the processes list

then...

Click START - RUN - in the box type: msconfig and click OK. Cick the STARTUP tab and post the list

What did I post about NOD 32?

ALL USERS... www.eset.com ONLY the AV, NOT the SECURITY SUITE

One of the processes indicates you installed the entire Eset Smart Security suite (not good) instead of the stand alone AV product

Is that correct?

I will look though the rest of these lists when I get home but I do think you have background activity coming from one or more sources causing this problem

The process indicates the Eset Smart Security is installed

I will check with ESET and see if they have changed their AV product recently and their startup files for the stand alone AV

In the mean time... did you disable Windows Automatic Updates?

Here is what I would like you to do as a test...

1. Under MSCONFIG please UNCHECk the following

egui
CTHELPER
nwiz
NvMcTray
nTuneCMD

Click Apply. the system may ask for a reboot... select NO

2. Go to Control panel - Administrator Tools - Services

When the list appears scroll down and look for anything listed as ESET or NOD 32.

Double click the service...

Under the GENERAL tab, dropdown.. select DISABLED and click APPLY
Under the LOGON tab, in the box in the lower section there should be an item listed as PROFILE1... Double click it and the SERVICE side should switch to DISABLED then click APPLY

Do that with anything listed as NOD32 or ESET. there may only be one entry

3. If you have not done so, please disable automatic updates from Windows Update

Control Panel - System - Automatic Updates

place a bullet in TURN OFF AUTOMATIC UPDATES

Click APPLY but do not close the box

4. If you did not shut down System Restore, please do so now. Select the System Restore tab and place a check in "TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE"

Click apply

NOTE: Verify System Restore is ALSO disabled in the services list just like I posted for NOD services above

Reboot the system. You will get a warning on reboot.. just click to continue in compat mode so those items you shut down remain off.

Confirm the startup items I had you uncheck in MSCONFIG are in fact still disabled.. your process list should drop to 25 or 26 processes, perhaps lower.

Run FSX and check to see if the stutter problems are still there

Let me know what you find and we can go from there in a reverse enable of processes to see which one is causing this

You may need to make a few FSX settings changes like you have been to see how it runs..

If the stutter is still there with no change then we can eliminate the startup items and they can all be set back to what you had.. reverse proccedure to enable

Good...

Just follow the list and lets see what happens

We have to eliminate as many possibilities as we can to see if this is an external app issue or a direct issue with FSX

Ok

Frames went up even higher now. 45 to 60, cessna, lansing mi, no weather.

however, stutters got real bad. im uploading a video so you can check it out.

frames wull go from 50 to 3 then remain around 45 to 60 for 3 seconds, then to 2, etc.

sometiems will go smooth for 5 seconds, then big stutter.

Did you try locking at 30?

and do you have any external applications running with FSX like ASX or Radar Contact?
