Help with Antialasing in GTX280

Postby pickup » Fri Oct 10, 2008 11:52 pm

I just bought a new computer to run FSX. The problem I am having is lines are all jagged. I have tried everything, but I can't get it to display clear. I have the antialasing on in the FSX and in the Video card as well and that is about the best i can get which is still poor for the money I spent.I have tried only the game antalasing, and also only the video card but both ways were worse then having them both on. I am running an LCD 32' monitor/TV at 1360 X768 resolutions, ( that is the best this monitor can do) and at lower resolutions it is the same. I  have tried everything I can think of but I still can't get it to display right.  Here is the specs for my computer

Windows XP Professional Edition SP3 32bit

3.0GHz Intel Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 Quad Core Processor

CPUCooling System COOLERMASTER brand

Evga 750i SLI Mainboard, 1600MHz FSB -
4GB (2 x 2GB) Corsair Dominator XMS DDR2 1066MHz  part #:
TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF

1GB EVGA GeForce GTX 280 GDDR3 Graphics Card -

1000 Watt  Approved SLI Power Supply - antec tpq-1000 -

20X DVD+/-RW Optical Drive w/ Lightscribe

500GB, 7200 RPM , 32MB Cache, Performance Hard Drive -

High Definition 7.1 Integrated Audio

The video card has a Gig of ram in it.

I would appreciate any help I could get on settings for this video card to try and clear the display up and get rid of all the saw tooth lines.

Thanks

link at the top of the forum... setting up with Windows.. about 5th post down NHANCER

all fixed but do take note FSX want 1280x1024 MINIMUM and you must be in full screen mode for complete support

If you are not doing at LEAST 1280x1024... you bought a huge video card for NOTHING

monitor should be 1920x1200 for that card

Thankyou for your help on this, I will get a new monitor, I am thinking a 24" or 26" . Does it have to be a special monitor or anything  to run this FSX other then the resolutions you indicated.
Thanks agian

Nope... just one that is 1280x1024 or greater.

most 24 inch units are 1920x1200

Wide screen monitors have a entry in the config file for FSX...

[Display]
WideViewAspect=

by default that is set to FALSE and you must manually edit it to read TRUE for wide screen aspect ratio support

In the mean time do use the information in this post to install and set up Nhancer. You must have neT Framework 2.0 installed to use it
