Bit the bullet and bought a 150G Raptor - more thn  enough for FSX, even with Gex  :)  just kidding.

I backed up the FSX array with Ghost so I'm hoping I can restore it to the 150, which is more than large enough. Would hate to have to completely reinstall FSX/SP2/Accel unless absolutely necessary.

I'm thinking that booting from the CD and doing a repair install of xp might get me thru the mobo change without reinstalling everything but we'll have to see.

You are going to have to install FSX no matter what because of the OS files that are lost.. no choice

After it is installed and updated with Sp2 or Accel you should 'theoretically' be able to restore the main FSX folder from your backup but I have never done it.

The 150 will work fine.. good drive. Use the list I posted (top of the forum) after you get everything installed and verified

definately will be following your guidlines! Been reading various o/c guides on the Rampage - wow! - lots to absorb. If I can get 3.6 out of this, I'll be happy. Seems to be a lot of 'auto' overclocking capability in the BIOS. Reviews have been excellent.
