Graphics Have suddenley become really bad HELP!!!!

Postby paddy4189 » Thu Jun 12, 2008 12:32 pm

Hey,

Iv had FSX for a long time now and have had no problem in terms of  performance. However, I went on to FSX today and the graphics were terrible. I don't think it would be anyyting wrong with my graphics card as i have a Nvidia 8800GTX, 4GB RAM etc.

The graphics around the plane are perfect but further away from the plane, the graphics are terrible.

Please Help!!!

Thanks

A screenshot would help us work out what the issue may be.

Two inches or so below the SimV Forums logo at the top is a line of options. Choose 'Upload Images'.

They may be no more than 1024 pixels wide, and the size must not be more than 150kb.

Hi,

might be worth checking out your startup items, services running in the background, possibly something thats crippling performance.

type msconfig into the Run command line from the start menu.

I would also run the task manager and see what is running and if anything is using up too much memory or cpu.

my grpahics are sorta doing that but i somewhat fixed them, set your graphics to default minimal and then move them back up to your settings, it worked for me, if they fail to load right in game open a FSX options window and hit cancel graphics will reload in the sim afte that

I would try deleting your fsx.cfg file then build a new one.

Just to throw something else in to the equation,it may be a failing power supply problem.

If your 8800 is power hungry and you are operating on the edge with your power supply(400w-450w?) it won't take much to degrade the video if your power supply is dropping away.

They don't always just cease working.

Do you have a DVD you can load and view and see the quality of the graphics. Ideally choose something you have seen before for a comparison.

i play crysis on the highest of settings and it works perfectly so it might not be a power problem. the graphics are bad just for Fsx!
Maybe it could be something to do with the files??
