How to download fsrecorder on vista?

Ive read the Manual on how its done but it cant find the .DLL file. I cant run the program as an administrator becuase its a setup. I have the file that I need but when it says cant find in this folder I look for the folder and cant find it. If anyone can help that would be great.

I just downloaded and ran the setup.

Did you remember to unzip the files first?

How do I unzip them. I tried to right click then unzip but there was no unzip. :-?

Well, when downloading the file, don't you get a zip file?

Open the zip file, and choose 'Extract'.

I just downloaded it extracted all of it to my desktop then the setup worked nicely.


Although theres no icon for the program?  :-?
I looked in program files, start menu, and everything else but all I have is the Manual and Read me with the same .dll file. I even installed it again (the repair) and nothing.
Any help  :-/

There's no icon, it only works when flying.

When flying, press the alt key, and it'll be under 'Add Ons'

First make a folder called 'FS Recorder for FSX'
put everything that came with the zip in this folder.
Then move the folder to C:/program files/
Then go to where your FSX.cfg is located (not sure for Vista)
there should be a file there called dll.xml
open this file with notepad.
Look to see if it has this entry:


           FS Recorder Module
           False
           False
           C:\Program Files\FS Recorder for FSX\RecorderFSX.dll
     

if not, add it.
Next start FSX and press alt to bring up the menu bar
it should now be under the addons tab.

Oh Okay.
I thought it was sortof like fraps.
Thanks ill give it a try to make sure its there. I thought it installed all correctly.
