New Nvidia 178.13..........New Frame Rates!!!!!!

Postby BuzzDatAzz » Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:55 pm

Hello All!

For once I am here to give advice instead of always asking. So, I have installed these new nVidia 178.13 drivers and I cannot believe the difference now I have made no recent adjustments to my settings or any FSX tweaking. All I did was download an install these drivers and give them a shot and holy ^&%*!!! I went from 15-20 FPS on the ground to 28-32 FPS!!! Again, I am no 3D guru, and I have made no changes since I was using my old 169.** (I forget) drivers. Man what a difference. In my opinion anyway!!!

Give them a shot if you like!!!

Let me know what you think!!! ;D ;D ;D

I think you have had a gain from just jumping from old 169.xx drivers.

Good news anyway!! Glad you have performance gains from them.
I'll probably try them out anyway  ;)

My Specs:

Vista Home Premium (32bit)
Gateway GT5468
Intel MoBo (DG31PR)
Dual Core Intel 2.33 E6550 1600FSB
4GB A Data DDR2 PC 2700  Ram (800Mhz)
PNY Nvidia 8800 gts (320)MB
400GB WD HD
Sync Master 19" @ 1440x900

After thinking about it I kind of figured that it was the old drivers holding back performance

Sorry, I guess it this would be considered a false alarm!!!

an increase of 8fps from a driver change? are you sure the test you did with the new drivers was under the same circumstances as your previous test?

I tried it.  Results weren't positive for me so I went back to 177.92.

I wonder how it does for the 280GTX?

The problem with nVidia drivers are that they have built in profiles for apps (including FSX) that over ride your "global"

Well it says it supports a 7200 card, so I'm downloading now. Do you think it will make a difference to me?
