Did you get it from walmart? I bought Two of those at my local walmart, the first went bad about 4 months after purchase with the exact same problem(it will get worse!) I liked the joystick and so purchased another at the same store. This one had the same problem out of the box! I went to return it and walmart said they can't refund hardware after it had been installed as my computer may have been the cause, yeah right!, I said no more and went to a Hastings book and computer game store and bought a very nice Logitech X3D pro. After a year now it still works perfect(on the same computer) and it cost the same as the saitek.
I tried downloading all the drivers and the calibration tool from saitek, but none of these worked it just kept acting as though I was twisting the stick for max turn even though I wasn't. And it was really hard to fly while constantly twisting the other direction to stay staight, forget about right hand turns. I've always heard good things about saitek but this was the low man on their totem pole so I just took it for 'got what I paid for.' For the price range of these joysticks go for the Logitech X3D pro $25-$30.(u.s.)It has all the same features as the saitek 290pro minus the weird adjustable palm rest, the logitechs is molded onto the grip. Hope this helps you avoid the frustration I delt with.
I tried contacting Saitek and they insisted that it was my drivers, but that was a year ago so they might be able to help now if enough people have also had this problem.
