Hi all,

This was a well know issue, unfortunately it appears that the "search" functionnality of this forum hates me

I've never seen that effect.  Maybe I should crank up the commercial traffic.

Hi all,

This was a well know issue, unfortunately it appears that the "search" functionnality of this forum hates me  >:(

Here is a picture of my problem:

As you can see, the contrail has one part OK (must be default) and one part touching the ground. I'm pretty sure this was linked to fx_contrail* files, but unfortunately I do not know what files should be replaced, and what files should I use to replace them. Any help ?  :-/

PS: I'm using World of AI.

I had that problem early on. I have since gone to alternate contrails
that are quite long and, IMO, more realistic looking.

You should be able to find the download files by using info from the
"readme" file I still had. Although it talks about FS9, the contrails
work fine in FSX.

==============================================
fx_contrail_l.fx
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an improved version of the contrails-fx for FS9 by Thorsten Reichert (c) 2005.
The original contrails are too short and all in all not very realistic. Try this and see your AI-traffic like the REAL one. ;-)

All rights at the author.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation:

Copy the file fx_contrail_l.fx into the FS9\Effects-folder.
Backup your Original before overwriting it!

That's it!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note:
When AI-Planes fly out of sight, the contrails disappear often very apruptly.
This is a FS9-bug and has nothing to do with this file - blame MS for it... ;-))

Hope this helps,

Looks like you got hold of the FS2002 contrail (fx_contrail_l.fx)...

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
