FSX - Menu Freeze - A thing of the past!!

Ok first time 'postee' be gentle. I have recently started experiencing the menu freeze and ocasional CTD, after much messing a round I have a found what appeared to be causing the problem on MY PC.

Nvidia 8800GT with AMD 64 4400 Dual Core,

Fix. Open nvidia control panel and set antialiasing mode to 'Application Control.'

I know some would disagree but like I said this works on MY PC.

I've experimented with this setting and it appears to be the cause of my problems.
