AI Question

Postby Brando14100 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 10:10 am

I have tons of WOAI now, so I don't need, or even see for that matter, the default AI. I read somewhere else that it is a FPS hog. Can I turn the default off without messing up WOAI?

As it turns out, Default is off wherever the WOAI planes take off and land.
So if you have a lot of WOai, you will never see any Default AI

If you have installed the WoAI Traffic*.bgl files without converting them to FSX format, all of your default ai traffic is already disabled, (all aircraft and 'ships and ferries' traffic).

WoAI traffic*.bgl files are in FS9 format. Although they work in FSX, FSX will not use FS9 and FSX formatted traffic*.bgl files at the same time. If FS9 files are present, it disables (ignores) all the default ai traffic and any other FSX formatted traffic*.bgl files.

If you have converted the WoAI files to FSX format (therefore default ai still showing) you can disable the default ai aircraft by going to the ..\Scenery\World\scenery\ folder and rename the 'trafficAircraft.bgl' file to 'trafficAircraft.original'. This will disable all default ai aircraft traffic, airlines and GA.

This will not 'mess up' your WoAI traffic.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

The above is only correct when the BGL's were not converted to FSX compatibility.

Like the above post. If you have WOAI and your Default is still around. Just remove the default AI BGL.

Take Note:

WOAI only adds tubes and not GA. So removing your default AI BGL will result in no more mooney's and cessna's etc...

That is pretty boring when flying around bush strips as they will now be empty.

I have all WOAI packages but still have my default trafic as WOAI dont land at bush strips.

The converters work on the 'traffic*.bgl' files after you have installed the WoAI package(s)...(though you can move them to a temp folder first if you prefer).

If you use 'bglfsfsxconvert.exe' it will not change the output file name. Select 'make backups' and
