Hi Jim. It's a default gauge so it really should be in FSX\Gauges anyway. It will be read from there so you shouldn't need to change anything.

No, you misunderstood me. For some unknown reason some of the default gauges are located in the Panel folders of the appropriate default aircraft. (It was the same in FS9 with the DC-3 & a couple of others.) The panels will work just as well if you paste these gauges into the FSX\Gauges folder. There is no need to change anything.

Hi

I just tried removing the gauge from the panel folder and placing it in the main FSX gauges folder, and your correct it does still show the gauges.

Thanks for the tip, it just goes to show that your never to old to learn.

Well Jim, I think you already knew that really. It works just as well in reverse when you're installing 3rd party aircraft, as you pointed out. ;)

This still doesn't fix Brett's problem.

Hi

Just a thought, but as putting new gauges in the VC, other than the primary flight instruments is going to be a problem without creating new FSX compliant gauges, Brett may be better off downloading a full 2D freeware Airbus panel.

I would help if I could. Unfortunately I only have the FSX Demo which is not a lot of use for this sort of thing. Even if I got it working on that it's quite likely it won't display properly in later versions of FSX (with SP1, SP2 and/or Acceleration.) There's simply too many possible variables to give anything but general advice.

Good luck. I suspect it's quite likely that the VC won't display properly in FSX anyway.

Ha! I've got it, just need to get the gauge placement figured out. Do as was posted and put the A321 cab in the A318 panel folder, Then open the A318 panel .cfg and DELETE everything in between:

well... I have managed to get the 6 displays working but now the overhead panel has stopped working... this is with jims modifications to the panel.cfg and moving the airbus_a321.cab over to the a318 panel folder. Its the autopilot which is being the pain.

Im tempted to backup what I have already got and then download a 3rd party a320 panel for fsx and see if I could get it working that way. keep me updated if you guys come up with anything

Copy the 321.cab into 318 panel folder & use this panel.cfg: ;)
