I'm Back After a Long Time..A Couple Of Questions

Hi there guys, well im back after spending sometime moaning & groaning about losing my FS2004, and i couldn't be bothered to buy a new one.

I havn't played Flight Simulator for some time and my dad is out at the moment as i speak buying me FSX.

I've heard so much about FSX and i have a couple of questions.

What major changes are there between FS2004 & FSX i need to take in mind. Say, different button commands etc?

When i first install FSX and go to the Aircraft menu, what aircrafts will i find there?

would my laptop be able to handle FSX?

I cant get onto MY Computer so il just read from some sticker.

Well, the keyboard commands will be pretty much the same.

New planes you'll find: Airbus A321, DC-3, an ultralight type thing, 737-800; rather than the -400, Beechcraft Baron 59 and King Air 350. Bombardier CRJ-700, Dehavilland beaver, Piper Cub, Grumman Goose, and the Mooney Bravo.

Having FSX Deluxe is a lot better than having standard, it also includes more aircraft, better scenery and a software development kit.
I would also buy the Acceleration pack, which is an expansion pack. This includes more planes and missions, and also includes SP2, which
is service pack 2. If you're not getting Acceleration pack straight away, you can get SP2 from here http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/default.aspx
You need to get service pack 1 before you get service pack 2.

On my FSX box, the minimum requirements are : WinVista or Win Xp SP2, processor 1.0ghz, but the more the better, 15gb hard drive, DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 32mb of ram and support for hardware transformation and lighting.

I would be concerned about playing FSX with and onboard graphics card.

I recently moved from 7600 to 4870 (although the 8800Gt apparently does better) and the difference was amazing.

I'm wondering what a onboard 3100 chip will do

Hi and welcome back.
FSX is mainly depending on the CPU speed and the amount of memory. You have 2Gb and this is already confortable. However, your CPU is way too slow. You needs cores running at least at 2,5 GHz  to get some decent FPS. Dual core is ok, but quad core would give you faster scenery refresh (les blurries, better FPS etc...).
You're going to be quite dissapointed if you plan to use FSX on this laptop. :/
