loosing cockpit views

From the cockpit views, 2d or virtual, and even from the outside view, my screen goes black and comes back in a second or two. Sometimes the whole scenery gets

Have you tried lowering your settings yet? Also, do you have a graphics card?

I forgot to mention that I have a Radeon HD 3870 512mb Over-clocked graphics card. I've changed settings up and down and the problem still persists.
