Any word yet on FS11? What would you like to see?

FSX including FSX Steam version.

The only thing I would wish for, .....(remembering how the FSX Flight Sim Design Team listened to all the daft suggestions on the Forums, incorporated them into the Sim, and made it totally unplayable for most Folks),...is a well designed Cessna 150/152 Trainer so that all those wannabe Jumbo 747 Pilots can spend many, many hours learning how to fly, and how to navigate....FIRST...

I think the C172 is perfectly fine as the games main general aircraft trainer the C150/152 would be a great freeware though

Definately a better alternative to Gamespy.

Improved physics/dynamics

Better ATC (The chat is always the same and sounds very robotic. A voice which actually seems to chat to you would be better)

Crash damage. There is only so much that sparks do for you. Maybe if the gear broke off or the rudder broke or something... would provide more realism in those 'unlikely to happen but still possible' areas

Bail!!! Press 0 three times  ;)

I look at the P.C. relese dates on IGN.COM but there was no Flight Simulator XI (11)..
Usually they know games a year before they come out or even 1 1/2 years but when they do it will still take up to 6 months or so for them to start relesing information, pictures, and ETC.

I just got FSX about 6 months ago and im waiting for the new one.. ;D

Theres still alot to fly and alot to download...

As has been posted before and Phil Taylor has also hinted.. look for FS11 1 year after Trains2 which puts it around October 2010. If not October 2010 then it will definitely be October 2011

i heard some rumors of it being dx10 required. i suggest people start getting familiar with making dx10 aircraft.

furthermore, i really would like to see a few things in fs11 these things are

3d lights

night vision

more detailed avionics and flight modeling, prefferably make pmdg quality aircraft in default

visual damage on the aircraft

more detailed AI including military flights, and many more aircraft types for ai, enough to make it look realistic.

better weather: i would like to see weather and clouds like the payware addons we have now, or even better than that

better scenery: for gods sake, put in elevation maps for the whole earth leaving nothing out

bird strikes

more possible failures

more ambient wildlife, i dont want to see wildlife just in missions, it should be everywhere in free flight

much better landclass: right now the town i live in is represented by a forest even though theres a airstrip that is included in fsx right in the center of town

better graphics: hdr and god rays please, along with better clouds, weather, water, and ground, also i would like to see better detail in the aircraft lighting, 3d lights and afterglow

better AFCADs: please make more airports accurate rather than just the major ones

more aircraft in general: i would like to see things like a 777, a 757, 767, a v-22, and a ah-1

more interactive and realistic ATC: i want to be able to use my mic for communicating with atc.

an interactive first officer/copilot to improve realism.

there are plenty more i can think of, but this is it for now.

Well since everyone else is doing it.... I would like to see:

Complete new volumetric weather system with accurate windshear / turbulence from wind over mountains.

New flight model / physics like Lock On : Flaming Cliffs, X-plane, & to a lesser extent Falcon 4 : AF.

New ATC system that is actually good, with SIDS / STARS.

New Ai system that responds to turbulence & crosswinds.

Systems modelled in DEPTH

Jets scrambled if you fly into restricted airspace / military operations.

Tire physics that change depending on surface, snow, ice,

Suppose this is all pretty subjective, depending upon what anyone enjoys most out of the sim...I prefer viewing aircraft in spot/tower mode quite frequently, and better attention to lighting conditions relative to weather would make things much more realistic. For example, on a dull day, your aircraft appears dull, not as it now seems all lit up from some unseen source behind the cloud cover (due of course to the relative lighting remaining unchanged). Another example being when flying through clouds, shadows would be cast on the aircraft as it flew beneath them. I don't believe VC shadows are capable as yet (may be wrong about this) but this would also look far more convincing. I realize some attempt at adjusting the lighting conditions is partially addressed with FSX-SP2, as on cloudy days, aircraft don't cast a ground shadow; however, the relative lighting on the aircraft appears pretty much the same regardless of whether it is cloudy or clear. If allowed to choose one other goodie, having ice appear on water surfaces at the appropriate times of year would also make things much more realistic. These would probably take up a lot of resources to implement but would enhance the experience quite a bit.

I just hope to goodness that the developers of the next Sim completely ignore all the suggestions in Forums such as this, and concentrate on designing the Sim which they know will satisfy the majority of Users out here owning "reasonable" Hardware, in the knowledge that it will run "reasonably" well on their machines at the time....

....no Bugs, no upgrade "cures", etc, just a straightforward, fully working, Flight Sim program.......[smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

We had all this "I Wish" malarkey before the introduction of FSX....

The Team took notice?....

...and look what happened!...Rivers of tears ever since!.... :'(...!

Paul....G-BPLF... 8-)...!

Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

I ran FSX reasonably well on a single core AMD3700/7800GT.. and have been enjoying an INCREDIBLE experience on a Q6600/8800GTS machine. Sure, a few more bugs than FS9, but compared to the improvements,, not a concern.

Expect FS11 to demand even more machine  ... It  WILL require the latest harware (whatever that will be in late 2011). Those who try to run it on two, three, even four year-old hardware will have only themselves to complain to.

FSX was a pretty steep jump in requirements.. I'd expect that's the way it will be for FS11. No suprises this time...

to respond to EG 7:

You don't need a killer system to run FSX smoothly. You don't have to know how to "reprogram" your PC either. All that you would have to do is take a few minutes and adjust the display settings in the sim. With about 5 minutes of effort, I was able to find an appropriate display configuration that allowed me to get 20-40 fps on a Pentium 4 laptop with an ATI X300 64MB graphics card.  The game wasn't great looking like it is now on my Q6600/8800GTS 512 setup, but it didn't look too bad. It was acceptable and it ran smoothly.
