I know you can't have real world ground textures for all the cities and suburbs that are included, too much HD space, but I'd like to have an official download where you can download at least 1 photo realistic texture into your library.
I'd love to fly over Chicago area and pick out my house, schools, malls, etc.

Exactly what I was thinking. The only things that are real life looks are the powerlines and roads. It would also could be easier to look at the ground and not have to use a map then.

even though the houses aren't accurate the roads for the most part are. i found my road and the turns and curves on it are very accurate.

Really?

You must be very lucky, as most of FS is just a default town, there aren't any specifics. Pretty sad how generic the FS world really is, but at the same time, I can see why.

the thing is i live in the country so i followed a "rural highway" so it is a bigger road than one in a town and the only road in the area.

The interstates and railroads are pretty close, and some of the various old "Rt 66" types are there, and as far as I can tell, a good number of State highways are present.  Streets, county and country roads are missing.

Yeah, the highways/interstates and the county raods are good. Just not your average town street.

When you think about they had to texture the whole world, thats a lot of towns, so I they they made a texture that was similar to the average town and used that, over and over and over again. :P But I'm happy with FSX :D, just please keep it a sim, don't turn it into a game. :-X

The only thing I would wish for, .....(remembering how the FSX Flight Sim Design Team listened to all the daft suggestions on the Forums, incorporated them into the Sim, and made it totally unplayable for most Folks),...is a well designed Cessna 150/152 Trainer so that all those wannabe Jumbo 747 Pilots can spend many, many hours learning how to fly, and how to navigate....FIRST...

...and keep the existing Beech Baron 58 Twin Piston Prop, and the Beech King Air turbo-prop, to enable Trainee Pilots to then learn how to to fly "complex aircraft"....BEFORE being allowed anywhere near a Jumbo 747...;)...!

The Default Piper Super Cub makes excellent practice for brave, wannabe Tail-dragger Pilots!...;)...!

There you go...my choice...a nice, new, little Default tricycle Cessna Trainer, with a comprehensive NAV/COM Radio Stack and instruments, which we haven't had for a few years.. ;)...!

As long as the rest of any "improvements?" makes the Flight Sim "playable" for a change, then that's your lot from me...;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF... 8-)...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Well, for me the best "innovation" in FS11 would be the improved lanclass and mesh coverage of Baltic countries:Lithuania,Latvia,Estonia,Poland,Finland,Sweden...Because at this moment they are recreated AWFULLY ! >:(

Paul, you're forgetting the whole point of the sim is to ignore all the lessons, and the light aircraft designed to progress you onto bigger aeroplanes, and then try and learn how to fly, IFR and make you first landing an ILS in the 747! ;) ;D

How about releasing the next sim with a document you have to sign and notarized, that says that you will read all instructions, and wont complain because your computer wont run the sim because its 4 years old.
Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) ,2.70 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X6 1045T(6-core), two HD (1TB and 500GB), 8gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5570,

That's fine providing they print realistic minimum system requirements on the packaging.

Then people may mistake them for the maximum system requirements. ;) ;D

A user friendly SDK for making yur own add-ons that does require a  software degree in 3Ddesigning (or equivelent level of knowledge).

Also, that they not pull a CFS2=>CFS3 "New, totally different platform" so that FSX compatable add-ons will still be compatable with FSII.

Trust me ;) Its friendly , an a lot , FS9-SDK was a night mare , the whole thing is that is just different..but better ,faster ,no Bull shuts ,you made the part and thats how its going to be ,no surprises ,like you have a shape in gmax and then in the game its other thing or twisted..
FSX-SDK goes straight of what you made and have a very VERY friendly tools  8-)

BTW ,I have work in both ..
