Very recent Anti-Aliasing problem

Postby machineman9 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 12:16 pm

So today I went onto FSX for a bit of a navigation and flight excercise (Runway 21 at Oban airfield in south west Scotland was great though lol)

And basically I found that for reason my anti-aliasing had gone a bit, well, off. I am getting a fair few jaggies as you can see from the image below:

Now I have checked my display settings. 1440x900x32, Trilinear AA (switched on) and all the fun stuff. To sum it up, my settings have not changed since yesterdays flying adventures, but for some reason the graphic quality has and I am wondering what may have caused it.

Nothing has been installed since yesterday

It is affecting all aircraft

My graphics card is an 8600GTS 512mb

Any thoughts? I don't see why it would just suddenly change.

Cheers

Switching over to DX10 in the settings did something similar for me. The only way I fixed it was to check the AA box within the sim.

Its currently playing in DX9 mode, and the AA box says it is checked on.

From SimV... It might be Nick's light fix. Either way, I have had it nearly as long as I have had FSX (so thats last Christmas)

I am on an EVGA 8800GTS 512 and had similar issues before. I would be in a flight and all of a sudden my AA would disappear when I changed views. If I restarted the sim it would be on again. I don't know why it happened, but it eventually stopped doing it. I no longer have that problem anymore.

If I were you, I would go to nvidia's website and download the latest drivers. They may or may not help you out, but they probably won't hurt.

I think they are the latest, but I can still try and keep up to date if not (it never hurts)

I went on today and the issue had fixed itself. Wierd. Might have been one of a million things, but it sorted itself.

Cheers anyway, atleast I have some idea of how to fix/prevent it in the future.

I've had that problem before, all I had to do was go to my graphics card control panel

whenever it happened to me, all I had to do was exit FSX and when i restarted it they problem was fixed. I think it was some random glitch that cleared itself when the sim is closed. It is annoying when it happens, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Mine only did it once or twice, and I've never had it happen again.
