Should I Re-Install FSX

Postby usapatriot » Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:39 am

Well I have downloaded a bunch of planes but the VC's are blacked out and there seems to be no fix for the problem. I am currently using FSX SP2 which I patched FSX to after installing it for the first time (After installing SP1).

Anyways, is there any chance that a re-install might fix my VC problems? Also should I install the planes into FSX without patching it to SP1 or SP2 first?

There is never any good reason to "re-install" any of the FS releases, unless someone has managed to throughly trash out the default FS system through complete incompetence... ;)

There are possible fixes for the "blanked out VC" but you do have to have been paying attention to the forum to notice them...

The "blanked out VC" is caused by the missing vcrain bitmaps in the FSX ..\Texture folder.

Download vcrain.zip from avsim.com and install the missing bitmaps.

The main problem is identifying the glass texture!
