Alrot,

Dont mind the unappreciative people, they are either

1. Jealous at your mad skills  ;D

2. Mad at you because your aircraft is to advanced for them

I love all of your aircraft alrot, the 727 is Awesome  8-)

And whoever gets angry because of a female copilot...really ? what are you 3 and think they still have cooties ?

:-[ the 727 was compiled under makemdl9 (FS9-SDK) But by this same year there will be another FSX release of this same plane under FSX-SDK  8-)

I forgot to mention and the most important :THE BEST THING FSX HAS ITS THE FLIGHT DYNAMICS REALISM!!! the Ground FX , the real working of every stage of the flaps position , and many other thing in this matter , This FSX when much deeper beyond a game ,is well recognize for many real pilots and one of the most accurate to practice..

OH YEA !

I like that news  ;D

I would be far happier at least if old aircraft made for FS2004 worked properly in FSX but they don't. :(

Most of the times, they do work properly. Some textures transparency problem can arise, because of SP2, but nothing you can't correct yourself with DXTBMP.

FS2004 had tons of great freeware models, FSX does not.

FS2004 had tons of great freewares from FS2002, and FSX has tons of great freewares from FS2004. My FSX hangar is mostly made of FS9 aircrafts.

FSX was released in 2006, it is now 2008 and there is still a lack of quality add-ons.

There are already a lot of outstanding addons for FSX, you just didn't look to the correct places. Want FSX planes ? search for Piglet's addons on Simouthouse, or Alrot and Bret's addons here.

Look, I would not mind paying for add-ons, but paying $29.99 for one plane is RIDICULOUS.

Those planes you'll pay 20 bucks for will give you a level of detail, realism and instrumentation no freeware will offer you EVER ! It's really not ridiculous paying 20 bucks for a good plane.

i agree with daube...i too have FS9 planes in my FSX along with the planes mentioned in the first post and those also work just fine.

Arlot your aircrafts are a work of art and it shows how many hours you put into them...thank you for all your time spent making them.

20 bucks for a payware is not bad at all...the other day i found a payware that is over 100 bucks.....like the saying goes...."you get what you pay for"....yes there are alot of freeware out there and with that said there is alot of great freeware as well.

ok there's my 2 cents 8-)

Speaking of FSX/SP2 incompatibility issues, I just spotted a little program called Addon Converter X

It seems to be some sort of module that corrects some incompatibility issues with older models

you know we all love your work Alrot. Ive got all your stuff so far. How about doing a Gulfstream G5 for FSX?
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Yes to Alrot, and Brett, and Premier Aircraft Design in freeware.

Then Wilco airbus, LevelD 767, PMDG 747, Aussim Piper Warrior, the Eaglesoft GA aircraft like the Columbia and Cirrus, the reworked PC12, the old FSD Navajo now running well in FSX,

and so on, and so on, I have more FSX aircraft than I can use!

For me the only real missing link is a good FSX 737.  The old PIC 737 does run in FSX, but can screw up the .xml file and also hit performance.

So please PMDG or whoever, get NGX into the market.  The first really good 737 will be a big seller.

blech, it's whining that made Mike Stone quit  :'(
making a high quality freeware plane for FSX isn't that hard, as long as you don't have OCD over Virtual cockpits.

note: If you have a social life, job, and/or a girlfriend/boyfriend(let's hope not) this may take awhile.

step 1: install a fs2004 plane

step 2: take a downloaded FSX panel or one from another a/c and replace the default panel with the new one

step 3: adjust the aircraft.cfg for more realistic handling. It's not that hard to figure out how the values work.

step 4: make a repaint if you must have a high quality texture.

step 5: give up and play IL-2

step 6: go down to the pub and get yourself some ale

step 7: sprint out to your car and race the 20 minute drive home when your previously mentioned girlfriend will be expecting you in 10 minutes
let's skip ahead

step 32: crap! whered I put that rubber!
woops, wrong step!

step 176: seal the envolope containing a child support check.
moving along...

step 1,236,698: enjoy your new upgraded plane!
