Max Graphic setting

Postby pokemon1571 » Fri Jul 25, 2008 6:00 pm

Okay,
I'm just wondering what  does it take to run the max graphics, I don't  mean just turning up the setting to Very High but going into the advance settings and turning everything up high.

My friend can do that but every once in a while the frame rate will go down to about 6 to 9 frame per second.
His computer Specs are:
3.2 ghz Intel Pentium 4 ht
128mb some ati graphics card
1gb of ram.

On the other hand I can't even run it on max not even Very High,
The max setting I can is Medium High.
I have a
Toshiba Satellite A205-S5803
Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.6ghz
2gb ram
and some mobile graphics card.

I've just built a new system and I can run all the graphics on high with AF/AA filtering at a resolution of 1440 x 900. Something worth noting is that I have air traffic set to 25% for both commercial and general traffic, road vehicles are off, and 15% traffic for ships and boats.

My specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0Ghz
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 800
Visiontek ATI 4850 512MB GDDR3
Windows XP Home SP3
Antec 902 - i7 920 @ 4.0GHz - G.Skill 6GB DDR3 - Radeon 5870 1GB - Win 7 x64

What is your processor and processor speed, since from what I heard Microsoft Flight Simulator X depends on pure cpu power.

Intel Pentium R dual  CPU E2180 @ 2.00 Ghz

Vista Basic 32 bit

I too am running Vista, I think Vista Might also be killing it.  What I do is I have the classic Windows Layout since I noticed that when in Aero everything runs slower.

I have my admin account in the Windows Classic layout and my no admin in Aero.
I run Microsoft FS X in the admin account.

And as long as we're taking settings, can anyone suggest any tweaks to the settings I currently have?

I'm running a Dell XPS 720,
NVidia GeForce 8800 GT.0
with the following FSX settings:

Target Frame Rate 20
16x900x32 resolution
Anisotropic filtering
Anti-aliasing is not checked
Global Texture: VH
Light Bloom-checked
Advanced Animations-checked

Level of Detail Radius-Large
Mesh Complex 96
Mesh Resolution 1
Texture resolution 7 cm
Water effects max 2.x
Land detail text-checked
Scenery complex-very dense
Autogen density-extremely dense
Special effects detail-high

Traffic:
Air Traffic Density- 100
Gen. Aviation Traffic Density-100
Apt Vehicle Density-High
Road Vehicle-96
Ships/Ferries-79
Leisure Boats-25

Weather:
Detailed Clouds set to maximum
Cloud Draw 100 mi/160km

Most of the the time FSX runs quite smooth but every once in awhile, I see the screen do the "hiccup," momentarily flash funky colors and then "straighten out" and display correctly. It's like it burps while loading the upcoming scenery.

I am pretty sure your pc specs are so outdated that it's really a miracle if you can even start the game.

What about mine? I don't know why mine is running so horrible, the system is fairly new, has more then enough system memory to run the program smoothly, a decent graphics card. I have a target of 15 fps and I'm lucky if i get 5 fps. I might add I also shut down programs I'm not using in the task bar and I never have anything running int he the background while I am simming.

If you max out the autogen in the .cfg, for example, your computer will show more autogen, but not the full amount that FSX can really push out. So basically, I don't know of any system that can truly max the game out, yet. Today's hardware simply cannot pull it off.
