Zoom?

Postby brettt777 » Thu Jul 17, 2008 10:43 pm

Is there a way to zoom in and out in FSX like there was in older MS flight sims? I don't mean like an eye point adjust, but to be able to zoom out and take in more of the cockpit and view without moving the eye point back into the seat...like I can in CFS 3.

There's also a quick way to find the answers to these type questions by pressing Shift-F10 and opening the kneeboard...

You can read a fairly exhaustive list of keyboard commands/shortcuts there...  8-)

When you press 'R', you "select" the sim rate.
'+' and '-' are meant to increase/decrease the selection, whatever selection it is. If you want to increase/decrease the zoom, you have first to "select" the zoom, by pressing BACKSPACE (which will also revert the zoom to 1x).

Ah okay. I already know about the simrate just wondering how to get back to increase and decrease with the + and - on zoom.

Thanks  ;)

To exit the sim rate, just press R again.  Then + and - should work as before for zoom.

You can tap + and - to zoom in and out faster.

Or alternatively, hold spacebar, and use your mousewheel.

The "+" and "-" keys didn't work. However, my key configuration is completely redone so the default keys aren't there anymore. I could just restore the defaults but that would mean redoing them the way I like them. What is the default function called for the + and - keys?

Catagory-Simulator Events:

Selection (Decrease); (default is -)
Selection (Increase);  (default is =)

Defaults are the keys on the keyboard, next to the Backspace key, not on the numpad.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

If it doesn't work when zooming, press space + delete to reset the viewpoint.
