No sound?

Postby DC-3 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 1:19 pm

Just got FSX installed and it has no sound... yes it is turned on. I tried messing with the settings and such but no luck. Sound works on everything else but FSX. I don't even know what direction to go in to look for a problem...

In the top right hand corner of the main fsx menu, there should be a circle with a picture of a speaker in it. Try clicking that. If doesn't work, try pressing Q while in flight. If no sound still appears, see if your speakers are in, or check the folder: My computer, Microsoft Games, microsoft flight simulator X, then look in sound. See if any sound files are inside. Where did you get your copy from?

I hope the sound card is compatible with FSX considering I just bought the computer a few weeks ago. It wasn't cheap.

And I have tried the button on the top right corner, pressing Q, and the speakers are plugged in because they work with everything else, and all the sound files work in the folder... oh and bought the copy at Walmart.

Its all default at the moment. I got it to work for a few times but its back to no sound. Didn't do anything to get it to work or not to work either.

Did you go to the SOUND settings in FSX and select your sound device?

Tried everything but all of a sudden it started to work after i restarted the game. It's just on and off sometimes, but so far it has worked each time.

Did you delete the game and then download it again or did you just turn off your computer and start the game up again?

Just closed out of the game and then started it again.

Maybe worth checking and reseating your sound card if it starts playing up again.
