Ok, why is this happening?

Well, I had to format my HDD, and now I'm suspicious, because look at the first 2 pics then look at the amount of processes in task manager...




And now the question:

     

I'm just about to re-do nick's tweaks, but what is with all those svc processes?

I didn't take a close look at what processes are running, but from my experience its normal.  Windows itself has many processes that it uses and can't be shut down.

I wish I had that few processes running in the background on bootup....

It's quite normal having several svchost-tasks running at the same time - just ask google for it (and all the other task too if you like). It's useful to look for strange tasks from time to time, to see what's necessary or worse dangerous...
