On ocasion and complerly at random, FSX wants to connect to the internet during initial

my fsx did that aswell.. lol i deny it acess just to be a prick  8-)

my guess is its some sort of authentication check? making sure its a legit copy or somthing?
I am somwhere I don't know where I am!!!

I would let it access the internet, see what happens. It's hardly going to do damage.

I do let it have access just to get rid of the message/problem until the next time. It's a completely legit copy so, I got nothing to hide.

However, I still wonder what kind of info might be transfered.

As far as it being a weather update, etc. my default fiight uses a weather theme.

It just seems that after given (or random) number of times loading, FSX simply wants to "call home" for whatever reason.
I wonder if this is by design or, some sort of bug.

What its connecting for is the latest news/updates.  Look at that first choice on the left menu, Its just loading the FS Insider website  8-)

I often have my net turned off when using FSX, its never requested the connection.  I manage with it on but its even calmer off the net.
