USING FMC--HELP!!!

Postby Brett Hill 2 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 7:03 pm

I hate using FMC's but I have to face the fact that they are what are used in the real world and therefore I want to learn how to use them, at the moment I have read the wilco 737 manual about 3 times and it still makes no sence to me... AND EVEN IF IT DOES IT SEEMS TO TAKE HOURS JUST TO SET UP.

All I want to ask is If there is ANY easy way to use an FMC even if it means not the way the real pilots would do it... please let me know... all I want to do is basic navigation etc using a FMC

I don't know how well Wilco modeled their FMC but watch these videos on youtube about programming the PMDG 737's FMC. Their are a whole series of them.

I fly the PMDG 747 a lot and it only takes me a couple minutes to load and go once you get used to it.

I've used Wilco's FMS in the Airbus A330/340's and agree the documention could be way better. There's a defenite learning curve, however once you get used to it, it only takes a few minutes to set up. I have the IRS align time set to 8 mins and usually I finish the FMS setup, crank and do the post start checks by the time the IRS is done. Play with it and you'll get there.
