now i know this has been discussed before but i can't find it.  :-/

how do you get rid of the words that inform you of what view you are in and the zoom level. i know you add something to the CFG but i can't remember what.

under the [display] in FSX.CFG

Edit these:

InfoBrakesEnable=True
InfoParkingBrakesEnable=True
InfoPauseEnable=True
InfoSlewEnable=True
InfoStallEnable=True
InfoOverspeedEnable=True

change true to false

I did it a different way, but get the same result!

Just add this at the bottom of the fsx.cfg

HideInfoText=1
DisablePreload=1

That was per NickN btw!

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Alexander: actually i was looking for the stuff that gets rid of the text in the top right of the screen ;) that was helpful and all but just short of what i was looking for :-/

sorry, just looked again and it says to imput that under the {MAIN} section

IT GOES UNDER THE [MAIN] HEADING

[MAIN]
HideInfoText=1 <---- gets rid of the mag, brakes and other info on the screen (optional)
DisablePreload=1 <--- a Must in order to offload the memory from the default flight and not allow FSX to double load on boot.


Bufferpools gets added to the bottom of the config
