To all three:

WELL DONE!! I spent over 20 yrs in software dev, test, and integration for DoD and other Us Govt customers and I believe you have delivered a product (within 5 days of schedule!) as good as or better than systems that I worked on that are still in use.

I think ACES should get on the horn and hire you! Nick, I suspect your management, integration experience was a great help.

Well done to all. I hope the donations poor in!

Will those of us with (cough) lesser systems benefit from FSWC? My water has no reflection whatsoever. Many of my planes have nice reflection, but not the water. Also, does it matter where this gets installed? Meaning can it just be loaded to your desktop and it will work?
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

No, this will not improve hardware that can not show reflections to begin with and you must be able to run 2xLow water at minimum

Do not install FSWC to any place other than its default location

Hi,

Congrats on FSWC, it looks great!!
I like some of the stormy water settings!

I'm currently using FEX with the water settings. If i use FSWC and decide to go back to default depending on where i'm flying, what will i do, do i choose fsx default theme, or do i select reinstall backup files? will i then have to reinstall my FEX files.

Thanks

FSWC does not change any texture files.. it will have no affect on FEX if you decide to revert back to the default FSX shader code. Simple selct FSX default

When/if you ever uninstall it will ask you if you wish to revert to FSX default before the uninstall completes

You do not need to do anything with FEX

I did read we should post issues in the support system of FSWC however, donno if I could upload a pic there.

I installed FSWC and set my settings to Glass Water. I took off and was amazed with this.

About 2-3 mins in flight all goes wrong. See pics.

Loaded her up. Working fine at 1st.

Then after 2-3mins of flying my water turns into this

Hi there,

We've already had this issue crop up and it appears that you both have very similar Graphics Cards. Looks like it might be an issue with the latest ATI cards... I'm going to do some more investigating into this.

Can you send us an email to support@fswaterconfigurator.com so we can get a better grip on what is going on?

Cheers

Sounds like you are running at water 2x low...

Yes FSWC will still have an effect at this water setting - its the one I run at most of the time too.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE INSTALLING AND UNINSTALLING

There is an issue with the uninstaller in FSWC v3.0. If you installed to a location other than the default location DO NOT UNINSTALL

We are currently working on a patch to correct this issue and should have it ready shortly.

If you installed in the default location you should be fine.

Ive even tried it at 2x high, and still no reflection. Guess Its my card then.  :(

Yeah, shader issues will always be an issue.  Right, what did that mean :-?.

Uh, I mean, program issues are my responsibility really, but shader things are rather odd.

I suppose its like NVIDIA 7 series and lower cards can't do Anti-Aliasing and High-Dynamic Range at the same time.  It's just one of those things.

But have no fear, it's not like we release then let people suffer, we're working at this stuff.  It's my first go at a FS-wide application, Paul and Nick's first go at shader editing, and I suppose first-times are rarely without bugs.

I even know a guy who's first app (for Windows 98) caused a BSOD, something which, back then, meant people had to reinstall entire systems!

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack
1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.

Wow guys. Great job you done on this. What a difference it makes.

Thanks Ashton, Paul and Nick for the hard work, it really was worth it. Keep up the work, but take a holiday soon, you deserve it.  ;)
