I can hear the trumpets already .

Nah, but I know the next post will contain a particular word that is no synonymous with FSWC ::).

Now, again, it's not really complete.

I posted this at flightsimworld a minute ago so I'll post here too :P

(Hehe, I like copying people in that fashion.  It's no insult to you ;))

And you win ;).

Yes, you've won.  It's the icon.  In the titlebar, it's 16x16 size, so it's not really easy to make out, however, full proper size, it's an installer icon ;).

You shall be contacted within the next 24 hours, instead of the previous 48 hours with the other guy, whom I refer to as "the other guy" since his username will confuse the issue :P.

I mentioned this elseware, so I'll mention it quickly, but I think hitting FSWC beta by tomorrow seems quite realistic.  It'll be minus the help files, those of which will be written during the beta.  Language files, however are all there, so translators be at the ready, they can be edited, although I don't think I can complete the language editor in time for beta.

Instead I'll produce the language editor during beta.  However, if the translators are up to it, editing the files by hand is easy.  Just open up the corresponding language file in notepad and change the entries yourself, making sure each line stays below 255 characters long.

That's about it for now, so, see you guys in beta ;).

Well, no, not quite beta, but just another screenie.

You know you're doing something right when the installer manages to make the correct "Add or Remove Programs" registry entry ;).

Hey guys,

I have very good news.  The installer and uninstaller work! :D.

This means we can hit beta today ;).

I only have to make a couple adjustments to the installer, because on some setups it looks a little funny :P.  Should be no biggie, though ;).  I have an entire day to fix something minor.

We could say the beta doesn't start today, since I'm still on hold for one file, plus the minor graphics issues, but they will be resolved.

P.S.  I woulda used a large assortment of smileys, but only FSW seems to have more than a hundred :P ;D.

Cant wait for the release! Just need to know when and where to get it!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Thanks for the support guys.

Release, we're hoping, will be in around two weeks time.  One week beta, one week gold, then release ;).

That's the idea anyway.

It'll be available at our website.  If you don't know the website already, clicky clicky my little siggy (well, rather large siggy, actually :P).

Alright, issue with Vista, purely shortcut creations.

Apart from that though, all works fine.  All I need to fix is that issue and we're good to go.

Alright, good news.  Support for Vista 64-bit should work in a couple moments.

Basically, the issue was this.  I was checking for FSX's directory by checking the registry, like any sane programmer would do.  I checked the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" section though.

I discovered, that whilst the entry is made in 32-bit Vista (it would seem) and all XP versions, it isn't made in the 64-bit version.  I'm running Vista 64, so I would know now ;).

All I have to do is go back to checking in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER", the entries of which still exist ;).

I still haven't resolved the Shortcut problem though.  That will come next ;).  Installing Acceleration at the moment ;).

-------------------------------

That was copy/pasted from FSW ;).

Alright, I think I've found another way to create a desktop shortcut that will hopefully work with Vista as well as XP.  It uses another DLL, not Interop.Shell32.  Instead it's something like an IWSHRUNTIMELIBRARY or something like that, I dunno.

If all goes well, then perhaps beta tomorrow.  Man this is annoying :(.  Should work, so fingers crossed.  I can do all my own self-contained testing now, so :P.  XP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit is nice.  I just hope it pays off  :P.
