Eagerly awaiting the release!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

And PLEEEAAASSSSSSEEEE!?  Noone let my wife know about the last two posts?!  Please?  Very scary woman bout that baby....

Really, I have always disliked the water in FSX.  This mod is the perfect example of trusting MS to build something that can be improved upon by the community.

All hail Water Dude...

Hehe, you're secret safe with us, but, what will we do with a baby?

Paul's better suited, I'm only 16, so Paul, it's all yours ;D.  But in all seriousness, thank you for your kind words.

If you think it's payware, just check out the website.  It's freeware ;).  There is a handy donations section though, in case you feel it is neccesary to keep the website up and/or get Paul Vista so he can do DirectX 10 work ;).

Anyway, now for a copy of what I wrote at FSW :):

Sorry there haven't been any updates recently.  I've been tied up with a lot of work, so I haven't been able to do much on it.

Wish I coulda, but I couldn't.

Well, guess I can tell you a little about what I have been doing.  This morning my dad and I took my mom to the airport, I think I already mentioned that, but can't remember and too lazy to check, but after that my dad needed to find a pressure tank, for our pump, to help maintain pressure on our water system without making our pump leak, which it has been.  After that, my dad decided we should go to our local computer shop to check the balance for all the parts we ordered.  Three of the parts were already there, so we took'em home.

I now have:
Striker II Extreme - Looks awesome, looks awesome, is heavy, looks awesome.
4GB DDR3 XMS RAM - Looks awesome, very light-weight, nothing else.
CM Stacker 832 - Looks awesome, very very well-made, very very heavy, looks awesome.
ToughPower 1200W (W0133) - Looks awesome, handy modular design, big near-silent fan, very heavy.
CNPS9700NT - Looks awesome, heatsink fins are quite bendy, mirror-finish base.

I've put the motherboard into the case, as well as the power supply and RAM.  As the rest of the parts come, I'll keep adding until it's fully ready to have Vista installed.  Then I'll leave it in the corner until FSWC is done.

Yes, I am that dedicated, that I will keep an extreme awesome machine dormant until this product is finished.  Don't tell me I can set it up and continue FSWC on it, because I won't.  In my experience, transferring project data from any applications, especially Visual Studio from one computer, an old one, to a new computer is almost always with issues, major or minor.

Therefore I will be taking no chances.  Hence why it will lay dormant until FSWC is finished ;).

Right, just a quick update on the installer.

I've gathered all the files together to be thrown into the installer.  They're all ready, in a way, so the final real thing, which I've never done before, is to copy and paste the extraction code.  Because I've never done it before, I have no idea if it will actually work, so fingers crossed.  Once I get over it though, only registry entries to write.

I've also got to write the installer, which shouldn't be too hard.  And I've still got the help file to write.  And the About file.  Well, those'll be done during the beta period, so no real worries there.

A little info about the installer, you all already know that the installer is made by me, not anyone else like Advanced Installer, Install Creator, Nullsoft or Installshield, so I have total control over it.

But I always wondered how small it would be, considering the end file sizes.

So, the current FS Water Configurator folder, totals at around 7.3MB.  The actual installer, on the other hand, with the same files stored in it, weighs in at 2.8MB.

I'm pretty proud of that :).  I always thought a hand-written installer would wind up being obscenely large, possibly larger than the end files, but it's not, so that's pretty cool ;).

I just emailed this to Paul, so I'll say it here now too.

THE FRIGGIN' INSTALLER WORKS!

And that's a quote.

I've got other parts to actually do, regarding the installer, like shorcut creation, which already works, but for some reason requires the Interop.Shell32.dll to be included alongside the application, something which isn't great when you want just one file.

Anyway, the reason why I say it works, is because file extraction works.  I can click through what's already made, and the files will be installed onto my system, so that aspect works ;).

It's going so well :D.

I can hear the trumpets already .

Nah, but I know the next post will contain a particular word that is no synonymous with FSWC ::).

Now, again, it's not really complete.
